Addition: Making Tens

Parents:

Your student is now learning additions by making "Tens".  This means that adding two single digits numbers will be different than the way we (in the past) learned how to add two numbers together.
For example:  7 + 6 =








                                                                    10  +  3

10  +  3 =  13

so 

7  +  6  = 13

                         
so on our worksheet, it looks like this:

                                                       7  +  6  =

make 10                  


                         
                              7     +     3     +   3
                 
                                         10    +     3        =      13

SO              7  +  6  = 13
