Spelling Words/ TPRI Soon

Parents and Readers of this Blog:

Since last week (because of Fiesta Holiday and STAAR testing) was a short week, I am going to use the high frequency word and vocabulary words for spelling this week.  Our students are familiar with the reading and the definition of the words,so  this week learning to spell them should not be too difficult.
Please parents now is especially the time for our kids to be reading and practicing as much as they can reading aloud and silently.   Take your child to the new Mission  Library on Roosevelt St.  and if you haven't done so get your student a library card.
This week our book fair is opening and is a great opportunity to purchase books for reading now and for the summer.
Remember within two weeks your child will be taking the TPRI test.

Thank You Parents for all you do.

Please deliver prize donations to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

STAAR Test Next Week

Parents,

STAAR testing begins next week and even though our 2nd graders will not be tested, Mr. Fierros will be used to administer the test to some 7th grade students. I will be out Tuesday and Wednesday for the test.
Homework will be minimal this week since I need to have extra work for our students to do in class and it is a short week.
Please have students continue to study spelling words and definitions along with reading their story.
Keep practicing multiplication tables.....This week the tested table is the Three's.....
The story will be tested next week.

Thank You Parents for all you do

Mr. F

Multiplication practice sites

Parents:

This week and next week we will be doing multiplication and division problems.
Please assist your student by practicing their multiplication facts, check out the dollar stores, and purchase flash cards and multiplication posters.  I have also noted some multiplication sticker and games that can be bought at the stores.
I have been looking on the web to find some great practice sites for learning multiplications:

Gamequarium.com   this is perhaps the best site I've found.

Our students must know their Multiplication facts because the problems on next years STAAR test assumes that your child has the facts down pat...

Thank You Parents for all you do.
