The 2016 Election Project

The 2016 Election Project

The 2016 Election Project is our second Social Studies classroom project of the year.
Every student will run for Classroom President.
On November 3 will have our primary election and Friday, November 5, the top 4 finalist will have a run-off election.

1. Students will create a poster ( like the one above) and I will post it in our room..(the earlier the better, the location) last day is Monday, November 7

2. Prepare a campaign speech for Thursday, November 3 and possibly for November 4.

3. During the next few weeks students may campaign, by talking, creating buttons, ribbons, (gasp!! campaign promises...)

4. I want to post some of the posters on the blog (permission slip signed for Audio visual use is optional), so please let me know if this is something you do or do not want to do.

5. If your child is a one of the 4 finalist they will  prepare for the debate and election on Tuesday November 7....(that should be a lot of fun!!!)
.
November 3    (sooner is  better)   Poster Due
November 4   Primary Election.   Speech in front of class. Entire class
November 7   Speech in front of class  4 finalist
November 8   Election Day.

  • Hint: Start with posters, ribbons, buttons as early and often as possible…
  •         Make a video (using phone) like a political commercial
  • Have a rally?
  • Use your imagination...
